Topham in Marriage Rites performed June 4 in the St. George LDS Temple united in marriage Miss Phyllis Buhanan and David Orton Topham. President Pres-ident Rudger C. Atkin officiated during the double-ring service which was followed by a dinner party for the couple and their close relatives. Hosting the affair af-fair were parents of the couple, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Buhanan and Mr. and Mrs. Silas Topham. A reception was held at the Cedar City Ninth Ward Cultural Hall the evening of the wedding. For the nuptial ceremony and festivities afterwards, the bride wore a white organza floor-length floor-length dress with lace appliques on the bodice. The gown featured an overskirt which swept into a V-shaped train at the back and which had a wide lace panel on the border. Her four-tier veil of bridal illusion was elbow-length elbow-length and fell from a butterfly designed headpiece of net and pearls. Bridesmaids, Mrs. Blaine Peterson, Pet-erson, Miss Barbara Cox, Mrs. Steve Butcher, Miss Bonnie Clark and Miss Nancy Buhanan, were dressed in like costumes of yellow yel-low and white lace tops and yellow linen skirts fashioned in empire waist designs. Miss Bonnie Bon-nie Buhanan was a flower girl. The attendants carried yellow and white mums which complemented comple-mented the bridal bouquet and expressed a yellow, green and white color theme. Best man was the bridegrom's brother, Mr. Charles Topham of Layton, Utah. Ushers were Paul Buhanan, Lloyd Adams and Rel-don Rel-don Matheson. The bride's mother wore a beige dress while the bridegroom's bride-groom's mother was dressed in a green linen suit. Both costumes were adorned with glamelia corsages. cor-sages. At the reception, guest book attendant was Miss Inez Cox, while Mrs. Charles Topham and Mrs. Wallace Boggus were gift room attendants. Kitchen hostesses host-esses were Mrs. Ted Cox, Mrs. Reid Cox, Mrs. Orwin Green, Mrs. Clemont Adams and Mrs. Karl Bradshaw. Serving were Carol Hunt, Penny Stapley, Carolyn Roper Ro-per and Nellie Cox. Master of ceremonies for a program during the reception was Douglas Cox. Vocal duets were rendered by Nellie Cox and Sharon C. Bauer, while vocal solos recorded by Mrs. Boyd Hales were played for guests. The couple honeymooned in Las Vegas. Next fall Mrs. Topham Top-ham will teach school in Brig-ham Brig-ham City. She is a graduate of College of Southern Utah. Mr. Topham has completed four Years as an electrical engineer major at Utah State University and plans to continue his education edu-cation there next year. |
