AAa . .; , .:,3 Joan Davison Weds Douglas Rowley In St. George Temple The LDS Temple in St. George was the scene of a wedding ceremony cer-emony on Saturday, May 28, which united Mi.-.s Ju.i Davison and Douglas Benson Rowley as man and wife, with Rudger C. Atkin, temple president, officiating officiat-ing in the double ring rites. ' The bride, a resident of Salt Lake City, is a daughter of Mrs. Robert Davison of Belfast, Ireland Ire-land and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Clair Rowley of this City. He has been living for the past year or two and Salt Lake City where he has been employed. The newlyweds were honored at a reception that same evening eve-ning in the Relief Society rooms of the Parowan First-Second Ward Church. For the reception the new bride wore a gown of Chantilly lace over white satin, with long sleeves that came to a lily point at the wrist, and a square neck line trimmed with rhinestones. The full hooped skirt of ankle length, was caught up in drapes at each side with white satin ribbon and lily of the valley. Her shoulder-length veil was at-ached at-ached to a lily point headpiece of pearls. She wore a string of pearls and carried a bouquet of red roses. MR. AND MRS. DOUGLAS B. ROWLEY Mrs. Larry Labrum, a sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a robin-egg blue taffeta taffe-ta floor length dress with full skirt, a tight bodice and short sleeves. Miss Mary Gunter and Miss Ada Orton were bridesmaids, and wore floor length princess line dresses of delustre satin with ivory satin bodices and olive green skirts, and carried white orchods. .. Bill Owens, a missionary companion com-panion of the bridegroom, stood as best man. David Adams acted as head usher, assisted by Robert Rob-ert A. Rowley, Doyle B. Rowley, Donald B. Rowley and Waldo S. Topham, brothers and brother-in-law of the bridegroom. The mother of the bridegroom wore a white lace over blue taffeta taf-feta suit and wore a corsage of pale yellow roses. Larry Labrum, brother-in-law of the bride, stood in the line to represent the brides's family. Mrs. Donald B. Rowley was at the guest register. Mrs. Afton Topham, Mrs. Cleone Rowley and Mrs. Marilyn Rowley were in charge of the gift room. Mrs. Maytha Boardman, Mrs. Roena Benson and Mrs. Shirley Mercer were in charge of refreshments and nieces and friends of the , Rowley family served. The newlyweds honeymooned at Zion National Park, and then returned to Salt Lake City to make their home. Two bridal showers were given for the bride in Salt Lake City, one by Mrs. Ann Iliese on May 17, and a second by Mrs. Sylvia Labrum, Miss Ada Orton and Miss Mary Lynn on May 20. An open house was held in their honor on June 6, hosted by Dr. and Mrs. Carlson Terry at their home in the Three Fountains condominium in Murray. |
