Show Air Forces Announces Change of Criteria Governing Enlistment The Air Force today announced changes in criteria governing the enlistment of prior servicemen into the Air Force. A prior serviceman ser-viceman may now enlist in the same grade he held at the time of his seperation from active duty if the enlistment is accomplished accom-plished prior to the date of the plished prior to the date of the second anniversary of his date of separation. Before this change was announced today, a prior serviceman had only one year in which to reenlist at the same grade he held when seperated from military service. This change is effective immediately and is expected to remain in effect through June 30. A former serviceman of any of the Armed Forces may also enlist withen 180 days after the second anniversary of his seperation sepera-tion from military service at only one grade lower than he held at the time of his seperation; two grades lower prior to the third anniversary of his separation; separa-tion; and three grades lower prior to the fourth anniversary service in any of the Armed Forces. It was previiously announced an-nounced that prior servicemen seperated in pay grade E-4, with less than 12 years service, may also be qualified to join the U. S. Air Force. Formerly, a prior serviceman who had been seperated for more than three years was ineligible for enlistment in the U. S Air Force unless he had been on active ac-tive drill pay status with a reserve re-serve or Air National Guard Unit Active membership in a reserve or Air National Guard unit is no longer required to qualify for Air Force enlistment. All of the above changes apply provided the prior serviceman's career field is on the Air Force needed skill list and the grade limitation for his skill is not exceeded. ex-ceeded.
