Show Elmer Green Resigns As Parowan Marshal At a special meeting of the Parowan City Council on Monday Mon-day evening Elmer Green submitted sub-mitted his resignation as city marshal, with the resignation to be effective on July 15. Mr. Green has served as nightwatch-man nightwatch-man and then city marshal for the past three years. The council accepted Mr. Green's resignation and discussed discuss-ed a successor for the position and finally Issued a call for ap- nllratlnn. for the lob. In addition to the above, the council appropriated funds for the purpose of financing the celebration of July Fourth here and Instructed the city recorder record-er to have the money turned over to the chairman of the celebration com ml tee. At the same time the council discussed further the matter of procuring gravel for a street oiling oil-ing project. It was reported that four likely locations where good gravel was available, had been found, two of which were on private pri-vate property and two on publicly pub-licly owned land, all on the outskirts out-skirts of the city. It was decided that the streets and sidewalks committee and the city street supervisor should continue con-tinue their work along this line and bring all Information to the regular meeting of the council on Monday, July 8. |
