Show PiUtAGOMH NEWS NOTES I Mrs. Helma Lamoreaux Mr. and Mrs. Torn Hemstreet of Salt Lake City arrived here last Thursday for an overnight visit with Marie's sister, Miss Gladys Edwards. The Hemst roots had been touring parts of Arizona. The Primary Association will present a Sunday Evening service ser-vice on April 23rd in the Ward Chapel. All Primary age children are participating in the program and everyone is invited to attend. Wayne Bettridge has been home on leave after completing his basic army training at Fort Ord, Calif. He spent the time with his wife in Parowan and here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bettridge. He has gone to Virginia for the next phase of his training. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bettridge enjoyed en-joyed a visit from Mrs. Sarah Davis of Cedar City and from Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Rowley and children of Parowan during the week end. William T. Davenport entered the Iron Co. Hospital Monday for an emergency operation. Mr. Davenport Da-venport is 77 years old and this is his first experience as a hospital hos-pital patient. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Golding of Rk'hficld were in town Wednesday Wed-nesday of last week to spend the day visiting with Mrs. Golding's sister, Mrs. Anna R. Williamson. Miss Ivy nouinson was home from Cedar City to spend Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. K. Doyle Robinson. Mrs. Lola Smith, Mrs. Jane Patterson and Mrs. Eda Thornton were here from Cedar City Monday Mon-day to spend the day visiting with relatives. Miss Linda Rae Dalton was among the Parowan High School students who traveled to Salt Lake City last week to attend the Model United Nations meetings. meet-ings. Mfs. Idella Robinson had visitors vi-sitors from out of town Thursday. Mrs. Dora Wade and Mrs. Pearl McConnell came from Cedar City and Mrs. Martha Dalton and Mrs. Arvilla Halterman from Parowan. The ladies spent the day quilting and were joined by Mrs. Alice Robinson, Mrs. Lula Bastian and Mrs. Sarah Stones. Mrs. Eva Topham left for Og-den Og-den Friday of last week. She planned to spend some time there visiting with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis R. Robinson, Mrs. Olive Edwards, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Robinson, the Elmo C. Robinson and Ronald Robinson families all traveled to Cedar City on Saturday for a family gathering at the Ralph Edward's home. Mr. and Mrs. Edwards entertained at dinner In honor of the birthday of their son, Paul. I Val Little, who is employed in Cedar City at present, was in Paragonah Friday to visit with his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs Thomas A. Robinson. Mrs. Mary Robinson left for Salt Lake City Friday on the first part of a journey to Moses Lake, Washington, to attend the funeral service for her brother-i.n-law, Lloyd Merkley who died suddenly of a heart attack. Mrs. Robinson was joining other relatives rela-tives in Salt Lake City to make the rest of the trip to Washington. Washing-ton. Mrs. Erma Lamoreaux entertained enter-tained the members of hot lub at her home Wednesday evening of la3t week. The ladies spent a pleasant evening together. A number of Paragonah people traveled to Parowan Sunday to attend the missionary testemo-nial testemo-nial for Jerry Ward. Mr. Asa Topham entered the Iron County Hospital Sunday in prepartion for leg surgery whii.-h was performed on Monday. Mrs. Viola LrFovrc of Salt Lake City is here to stay with her mother while her father is in the hospital. D. U. P. meeting will be held on Thursday, April 20, at the home of Mrs. Idella Robinson. The meeting is scheduled to begin be-gin at 2:00 p. m. Mrs. Irene Robinson returned home Tuesday of last week after being gone for more than a week. She combined a trip to the Primary Pri-mary Conference sessions with a family gathering In the northern part of the state and enjoyed a fine time. Mrs. Robinson was privileged to attend the Primary Stake Presidents Banquet with her sister, Mrs. Mina Hamilton, who came from Montana. Mr. and Mrs. Arch Lamoreaux and the majority of their Immediate Imme-diate family, were together during dur-ing the week. In addition to Mrs. Hamilton, those present included Orval Lamoreaux of Page, Ariz.; Mrs. Mary Robb, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Florence Kite, Hooper; Homer Ho-mer Lamoreaux, Provo; and Mrs. Leora Ashton, Orem. Mrs. John Miller of Panguitch spent Saturday visiting with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Don C. Barton. |
