Show Spring Art Exhibit Opens, Attracts Crowds The 21st annual Cedar City Spring Art Exhibit opened Sunday Sun-day in the South Elementary School Auditorium, and the school has been the focal point of activity since, with many people visiting the exhibit to view the most impressive display. dis-play. Young people from the various var-ious schools of the area have been visiting the exhibit in groups throughout the daytime hours, with adults appearing during the later hours. Conducted tours of the exhibit are attracting attract-ing many adult groups. The exhibit includes fewer paintings than has been the case in recent years, but the quality and variety equals if not surpasses sur-passes previous exhibits. As usual us-ual the wide range of art is the dominating factor. The exhibit was officially opened op-ened Sunday afternoon with a program featuring a lecture by Dr. Twain Tippetts, and musical numbers by Irving Wasserman and Ronald Stoeffel, all of the Utah State University at Logan. Second program will be presented pre-sented at 4:00 p. m. April 23, featuring a program of chamber music by a string ensemble composed com-posed of Prof. Roy L. Halvcrsen, Robert Bradshaw, Carol Ann Jones, June Thorley, Evelyn Jones, Teggy Thorley and Mary MacDonald. The public Is Invited to hear this delightful program and remain to view the exhibit for a most pleasant afternoon. The exhibit will continue through Sunday, April 30, and will be open to the public from 9 a. m. to 10 p. m. each day, except Sundays, when the doors open at 2 p. m. and remain open until 10 p. m. |
