Show j New Cedar Breaks Boundaries Proposed Congressman M. Blaine Peterson, Peter-son, (D-Utah) introduced legislation legis-lation Tuesday to add certain Federally owned lands and to exclude other Federally owned lands from the Cedar Breaks National Monument. Congressman Teterson stated that the Intciiur Department requested re-quested htm to introduce a bill proposing certain boundary adjustments ad-justments which would exclude approximately 129 acres of land from the Northwest section of the Monument and add to its Southeast South-east portion approximately 111 acres. "This is merely a boundary adjustment," the Congressman explained. The lands to be added are In Federal ownership as a part of the Dixie National Forrest, and covers short sections of the rim which now lies outside the boundary boun-dary of the monument. The excluded lands would become be-come part of the Dixie Forest and ural boundary, namely the vcr-iral vcr-iral boundary, namely the vertical ver-tical ledge which forms the rim of the canyon. No land acquisition costs are Involved but approximately $8,400 would be needed for the relocation of boundary fencing. Neither the Forest Service nor the Bureau of the Budget has objected to the presentation |
