Show VIBC Bowling Tourney High Success The ' past week end saw the completion of the 2nd Annual Cedar City Women's Bowling Association As-sociation tournament with 25 team entries, 24 sets of doubles, 48 singles and 40 entries In all-events. all-events. The first week end established some enviable scoring for the women; placing Cedar Crest Team in first place with Western Auto second. But the second week end replaces all firsts, except ex-cept in doubles, with the following follow-ing results Screwballs, first; Hunterettes, second. These two teams were well matched and played an exciting game Sunday evening, which kept all spectators specta-tors in their seats until the last ball was rolled. The Screwballs won by only 3 points; 2033 to 2G30 for the series, leaving Cedar Crest third and Western Auto fourth. In singles, Genial Twitchell and Dorothy Heap tied for first place with a 57 scries. This tie was played off Monday, leaving leav-ing Geniel in first and Dorothy second. Virginia Randall placed third with a 50(1. Doubles found Millie Kehl and La Vein Petty in first with 1132; Marie Memmott and Ruth Webb, second with 1113 and Alice Tue-kett Tue-kett and Willie Topham, third, 1100. In all-events, Alice Tut kett held the lead for a week with a 1391. but this was shattered by Lillie Hazel with a 1 liyi and Ceniel Twitcliell with a 1117, leaving Alice in third place. Trophies and cash awards will be presented at the Annual Luncheon Lun-cheon to be held at Sullivan's Cafe, May 11. On April 28 at 7:30. the women wo-men will hold a meeting at the Cedar Bowling Lanes to nominate officers for the City Association 1 to be followed by a "Sweeper' which is open to all W. I. B. C. Members at a $2.00 entry fee. Present officers are Geniel Twitchel, president; Itha Lindsay, Lind-say, vice president; Lois Nelson, secretary, and Marian Rosenberg, Sgt.-at-Arms. |
