Show LIVIN IN THE ESCALANTE VALLEY By Mrs. Francis Piper The general meeting of the Es-calante Es-calante Valley Co-ordinating Council was held Mar. 27. Many items of Interest were discussed. Bruno Biasi, chairman of the building committee announced a good attendance and a lot of work was done during the three work days set on the new recreation rec-reation building. Every Saturday Satur-day will be "work day" on the building under' the direction of Don Applegate. The Lions Club will stage a scrap iron drive during the next few weeks. April 20 will be the final day of the drive. The Escalante Valley Cub Scout Pack meeting set for April 5 was postponed owing to so much illness among the children. The Utah Poultry party held Mar. 29 at Enterprise Ward hall was well attended by Valley residents. res-idents. An entertaining program was enjoyed, also prizes and refreshments. re-freshments. Valley residents winning win-ning prizes were Mary Moyle, Mrs. Ray Hunt, and Nellie Mathews. Gary Biasi and Chandler Whltelaw attended the Future Farmers Convention held In Salt Lake City last week. Both boysi are Escalante Valley students at-tending at-tending Enterprise High School. A pot luck supper and square dancing were enjoyed. Mrs. Georgia Moyle has made a business trip to Salt Lake City. She will attend the Primary con- ference while there. Mrs. Moyle will bring her mother, Mrs. Holt, back home with her. j Mr. and Mrs. William Draper and children returned from a vacation va-cation trip to Oakland. He is the son of Larry and Janice Hester of Barstow, Calif. Mrs. Hester is the dauch- iter of the Ralph Gardners. Mrs. Gardner will spend a few days I with her daughter and the m-w baby. I Ralph D. Gardner, son of Mr. land Mrs. Ralph Gardner, was promoted to first lieutenant on Mar. 13. Lt. Gardner Is In the Air Force at Waco, Texas, John Smith was seriously Injured In-jured in an accident while he and Mrs. Smith were sawing wood for their fireplace with a power saw. Word was received of the accidental acci-dental death of Chester Boss-hardt Boss-hardt of Las Vegas. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Boss-hardt Boss-hardt and brother of Chariest Bosshardt. George Clove, Escalante Valley Electric Assn. manager, has given giv-en notice of his resignation. Mr. Clove has managed the association associa-tion for several years. |
