Show High School Athlete - Look Toward First Season Contests Track and baseball squads at the Cedar City High School, like others In the area, are fighting a losing battle with the weather, but nevertheless are looking forward for-ward to the beginning of competition compe-tition next week. The track squad under the direction di-rection of Coach Hal Norton will see its first competition on Saturday, Satur-day, April 13 at the annual Dixie Invitational at St. George. The squad has had little opportunity opportuni-ty to work out on the track and will be pressed to be In any kind of shape for the event. Baseballers are having the same problems weather which seems to be a proverbial thorn In the spring sporting eveiita in vcuai ity. Coach Bruce Decker has had his crew working out indoors this week and spent some time outdoors last week. However, the team has not had a scrimmage yet and will be hard pressed to be ready for the opener on Monday, Mon-day, April 15. Three teams in the region will be participating this year. They are Cedar, Hurricane, i defending region and State Class I B champs, and Delta. |
