Show Weather Hampers Training . t)fflronco Thinclads The thinclads of the cinders field at College of Southern Utah are having a rough time, as usual, us-ual, in getting ready for the opening meet of the season Just one week away. Coach Bruce Osborne Os-borne indicated that his squad will participate in the Dixie Invitational In-vitational on Thursday, April 11. Weather conditions of this week has forced the squad indoors in-doors and it has been practically practical-ly Impossible to hold workouts of any consequence as a result. However, a team that has basically basic-ally a "well rounded" appearance appear-ance will invade Dixie Thursday for the first taste of competition. Final entries in the various events have not been decided; however. Coach Osborne indicated indicat-ed tentative starters as follows: I 100 and 200 yard dashes: Karl Graff, Phillip Nelson, Ken Grei-ner Grei-ner and Darrell Prince. 440: Grant Myers, Ross Marshall. Marsh-all. Victor Hunsaker, Max Nlrl-son Nlrl-son and Frank Baker. 880: Boyd White, Rand Burr and Don Ritchie. Mile: Jay Bradfield, Dave Sa-gers. Sa-gers. Randy Eubank. Terry Bo-lander Bo-lander and Dwayne Colledge. Two mile: C. A. Griffiths. Shot put: Wendell Holmes, Jim Nielson and LoRen Provost. Discus: Holmes and Jim Nae-gle. Nae-gle. Javelin: Gary Middleton and Royal Thornton. High Jump: Roe Smith, Kent rugh. Kent Thrasher, Ted Garrett Gar-rett and Jerold Oldroyd. Broad Jump: Pug and Thrasher. Pole vault: Michael Gottfred-son. Gottfred-son. Low Hurdles: Smith and Eldon Webster. High hurdles: Smith and Garrett. Gar-rett. This list of entries is by no means final, Coach Osborne said. Other men are working out and those listed may enter in other events. For the two relays, 880 and mile, Coach Osborne indicated that teams would be entered in both, although no selections for the teams have been made at this time. |
