Show Tempiute Highway Bid Enhances Y-Z Outlook A contract has been awarded for highway construction in Nevada Ne-vada that should prove very beneficial ben-eficial to Cedar City and southern south-ern Utah, since the project is another important step in the construction of a highway connecting con-necting the San Francisco area with southern Utah. The contract, let to Dodge Con- structlon, Inc., of Fallon, Nov. for building a portion of the "Y-Z" "Y-Z" (Yosemite to Zion National Park) highway, through the Tempiute area of Nevada. This project will leave only about 25 miles of unimproved highway on the entire route, according ac-cording to reports from Nevada, and it is also understood that a contract will soon be lot on this final section. Completion of the Y-Z highway will give the shortest short-est possible direct route from the heavily populated San Francisco Francis-co Bay area to the parks of southern Utah and should increase in-crease travel tremendously. The Dodge Construction bid was for $592,602.44. the lowest of nine bids submitted. |
