Show Deputy Benson to Face Charges in Salt Lake Deputy Iron County Sheriff, Arch Benson, 60, Parowan, will appear before Salt Lake City 'Judge Arthur J. I He was arrested at his hotel at about 4:30 a. m., according to re- I ports from the state capital, about three hours after the Iror County sheriff's car struck a parked automobile at 33 Hub. bard Avenue, according to Offl' I cer John B. Bywater. According to police reports the car driven by Benson, struck a parked car at 333 Hubbard Ave. and the defendant left the scene of the accident. W. E. As a result the arrest was made. Benson was booked Into the city jail and then freed on $150 bail to appear before the Judge later in the day. Later Friday Benson appeared in police court, entered a plea of innocence to the charge and was ordered to stand trial on Jan. 8. He was I released from Jail on his own recognizance and without bail. Police report minor damage to the Iron County car, but damage to the Sherwood auto was listed at $200. |
