Excellent equipment and professional advice make the class interesting and productive. Instructor is Miss Helen Harris of the Cedar High School home economics department. Family Sewing Class Gets Insight To Basic Dress Trick The Family Sewing Class of the adult education series en-j.ijed en-j.ijed a delightful treat at their last class Tuesday evening. The teacher of the class, Helen Harris Har-ris of the high school home econ-moles econ-moles department, was assisted by Margaret Mecham of the Jr. high In a most interesting demonstration. dem-onstration. The teacher called it "How to Dress Up a Basic Dress." They used a simple basic dress and by changing such accessories accessor-ies as sca , flowers, jewelry, hats, glove. . ade the model appropriately ap-propriately dressed for all occasions oc-casions from house work to a dancing party. By a few simple changes, they took the model shopping, to Relief Re-lief Society, PTA and club, to fu-nerals, fu-nerals, church and weddings, to winter and dancing parties. The ladies felt that it' was a most delightful experience and many expressed a desire to own such a dress. According to Miss Harris, many of the ladies want to make a basic dress when the new classes begin again after Christmas. The sewing class this term has included ladles who are doing beginning sewing. According to Miss Harris, they are an enthusiastic enthus-iastic group; they have been fun to teach and are anxious to learn to sew well. Each lady in the class has completed a cotton dress for herself. |
