Show Cedar Quarterback Club Organizes For College Support A Quarterback Club for the promotion of athletic activities; In the area and particularly with College of Southern Utah, was formed Monday evening with Lowell Sherratt, manager of Safeway Safe-way Store In Cedar City, named as president to succeed Milt Jol-ley. Jol-ley. First general meeting of the organization has been ..lied for Saturday, Dec. 13 at 7 a. m. for. a breakfast at Hotel El Escalante dining room. This meeting will be open to all who are Interested) In athletics In the area. Speak- ers will include Boyd Adams.l basketball coach at CSU, who will discuss his program and squad for the year. In addition to remarks by Director Royden C. Bralthwalte. Other officers of the organization organiza-tion elected Monday evening include in-clude Tom Cardon, vice president, presi-dent, and Yorke Nelson, was renamed re-named secretary of the group. Board cf directors will Include Jolley, Ross Woolsey and Walter K. Granger. The Quarterback Club will met twice each month on the second and fourth Tuesday evenings eve-nings beginning In January 1959. At the beginning of these meetings memberships will be accepted at $5.00 per year, Sherratt Sher-ratt pointed out. The $5.00 membership fee Is the only solicitation of the members mem-bers to be made by the Quarterback Quarter-back Club. Money for scholarships, scholar-ships, and other activities will be raised through projects and activities ac-tivities sponsored by the club and not through solicitation of, members. It Is the hope of the officers that through the organization! more people will obtain a closer association with the athletic program pro-gram of the college. ' |
