Show Franklin Slack Tells Re-enlistment Plans A two-year veteran of the Air Force. A2c Franklin J. Slack, of Cedar City and husband of Sandra San-dra Decker Slack of this city, took a short discharge to re-enlist for six years to fill his own vacancy recently. Slack, a teletype maintenance repairman assigned to the 6313th Communications Sqdn. has been stationed at Kadena, an overseas over-seas base for 14 months. He took his basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, and was stationed at Fairchild AFB, Wash-before Wash-before going overseas. He will return to the States in four months to Join his wife, to whom he was married one month before his assignment overseas. His intention to remain in the Air Forve was governed by the fact that his Job working with teletype machines, is an interesting inter-esting one and though he is gaining gain-ing valuable experience, he feels he hasn't advanced far enough to get a job along this !ine in civilian life. He intends to stay in the field because of his training train-ing and experience received in the service. He stated that he felt that his job is just as good as if not better bet-ter than any he could get back home, "and as my experience and Job knowledge continues to grow I figure my rank will increase in-crease too. With this in mind, I feel the service offers me a valuable val-uable opportunity for a worthwhile worth-while career," he added. I |
