Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING By Nola Kupfer A Sunday night supper was the manner In which the Sunday evening study group honored former Cedarites, Mr. and Mrs. John Brown upon their visit here from their home in Los Angeles, Calif. Eight couples gathered for the evenig of feasting feast-ing and visiting. Joining the study group members and the honored guests were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bradshaw. The Ward Robbs have had as their house guests for the past week, Mrs. Robb's aunt and uncle, un-cle, Mr. and Mrs. Myron J. Ro-buck Ro-buck and son of DesMoines, Iowa. Io-wa. Following another week, of visitine and enjoying the moun tains and outdoor sports the family fam-ily will leave for their return trip? home. Salt Lake City was the destln-atlon destln-atlon of Mr. and Mrs. Donovan Reams as they took a few days vacation last week. After visiting at home with parents Mr. and Mrs. Addison Tollestrup, Mr. and Mrs. De-Wayne De-Wayne Terry and two children have returned to their home In Harbor City, Calif. Mrs. Terry Is the former LaRue Tollestrup. Mr. Terry, a teacher In the California city, will arrive home In time to take up his duties in the system's sys-tem's summer school. Meeting at the home of Florence Flor-ence Crabtree. .e Lahoaoby ladies la-dies enjoyed a sodil evening visiting and playing pinochle. Finding the evening pleasant with members were guests Rhea Carter, Cora Keetch, Marian Esp-lin Esp-lin and Joyce Messer. Prizes for the evening were given to Cleo Taylor, Pauline Cox and Cora Keetch. On hand for their daughter Laurena's graduation from thej University of Utah were Mr. and Mrs. Erastus Jones. After a few days visit the family returned to Cedar City. Miss Jones enjoyed a week's stay at home before leaving leav-ing on Wednesday morning for Maples, Maine, where she will act as a counselor in dance at Camp Pinecrest, a camp for girls. Traveling via bus to Albany, N. Y she will be met by a friend with whom she will make the last lap of the trip by car. Having Hav-ing spent last summer In Maine, Miss Jones was looking forward to again enjoying the beauty of the woods and the activities of the camp. Following the camp term, Miss Jones will return to accept ( a teaching position In physical, education and dance at Placor-ville Placor-ville High School, Placerville,' Calif. i Relatives and friends were Invited In-vited to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy L. Halversen Monday afternoon between the hours of 4 and 6 at which time a lovely trousseau tea was held in honor of their daughter, Marilyn, who will become the bride of Dennis Huntsman In ceremonies to be performed Friday. Mother of the bride-to-be served as hostess for the afternoon and greeted the guests, while Miss Halversen and Mrs. Cannon Huntsman, mother of the groom, showed the guests the lovely displayed treousseau. Serving were ReNee Milne, sister sis-ter of the bride-to-be, who arrived ar-rived from Los Angeles for the occasion and wedding festivities; Mildren Nelson, Jean Bunting, and Judy Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. Brian Turner and two sons of Flagstaff, Ariz., vacationed vaca-tioned last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. Arthur Jones. After a pleasant stay the family returned to Arizona. Spending the summer in Cedar Ce-dar City is Mrs Charles Woodbury Wood-bury and sons, Todd and Jeffrey. Mrs. Woodbury, the former Joan Jones, is a member of the CSU summer school staff teaching dance. While in Cedar City, they will be the guests of Mrs. Woodbury's Wood-bury's parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Jones. |
