Show Livestock Show Association Okeys Plans for Pavilion for 1958 Event Board and trustees and the executive committee of the Southern Utah Livestock Show Association announced this week that plans for the construction of a livestock pavilion and recreation center on North Main Street had been approved and the go-ahead given to begin conduction. conduc-tion. General construction construc-tion work will be done by the designers of the building, Peterson Peter-son Timber Sales of Brigham City. That portion of the building to be erected at this time will include the auction ring and seating to accommodate 1300 people. In addition, the front section sec-tion will include office spare, other ot fices and a supply area necessary to administer the building. Construction of the building Is being rushed with a completion date set for Sept. 1. This would enable the annual livestock show to be staged at the new facilities facili-ties thia season. Estimated cost of the construction construc-tion has been set t $30,000 with a contract of approximately $23,- 000 for the general construction and an additional $7,000 for separate sep-arate bid for the foundation. When the second portion of the building is completed it will be 100 feet wide by 180 feet deep. Beyond the arena at the front of the building the additional 100 foot enclosure will be used for judging and exhibition at the annual show. The arena has been designed to allow use fur other activities in aditlon to the annual auction.' It can be used for such things as boxing and wrestling cards, and other features of this kind, Boy-ter Boy-ter stated. The second, or rear portion, is designed for use for such things as square dancing, roller skating and other recreational recrea-tional activities. The building will be of cinder block construction.
