Show News in Brief By Marileen Austin Mrs. Dee Burgess's mother, Mrs. Charlotte Kenzel of Los Angeles is here spending two weeks with the Burgesses. Charles Bosshardt's sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Worth from West Jordan spent the week end here visiting with the Booshardts. The whole family enjoyed a lovely picnic lunch at the Newcastle Reservoir last Sunday. Mrs. Beverly Barlocker Hunt traveled to Salt Lake Citv to the LDS Conference last week with Mrs. Nellie Moyle. Mrs. James P. Lehman of Las Vegas will be staying with Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Bracken and family for a while. Mrs. Lehman is Mr. Brackenn's aunt. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph D. Gardner Gard-ner and tiny daughter Elizabeth traveled to Salt Lake City last week end to visit with Mrs. Gardner's Gard-ner's parents, Mr. and Mrs. V. K. Burnett. Mrs. Betty Bracken and her three small daughters, Sandra. Patsy and Joanni went to Central to spend the week with the girls' grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Aus tin Bracken. Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Holland were very glad to have one of their sons, Carl E. (Shorty) Holland, Hol-land, FS3, home on leave from the Navy last week. Carl brought home a friend of his, Glenn E. Bell of Lincoln, Neb. They enjoyed en-joyed a tour of the scenic parks and canyons of the area and then visited with friends at Bryce Canyon. Can-yon. Mr. Holland left Monday to return to duty on his ship, the USS Gregory, stationed in San Diego, and Mr. Bell continued contin-ued on his way to Lincoln, Neb. to see his parents. Mrs. Maud Moyle, who has been visiting with relatives in the northern part of the state, and who attended the Austin family reunion in Logan, came home with her son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Jack E. Moyle, who went to conference last week end. Mrs. Rosilla Hills came home from Chi no, Calif., where she had been staying with one of her sons. Tom Anzalone is back at work now after suffering repeated heart attacks. Mr. and Mrs. Claude C. Graves of Portland, Ore. were the week end guests of their daughter and family. Mr. and Mrs. William Hunt. Also staying with them was Mrs. Hunt's sister Mrs. Lillian Lil-lian Gardner. They spent the week end at the Hunt home en-route en-route to their destination in Iowa. The annual Primary convention conven-tion of the L D S Church for this stake will be held in Alamo, Nev. this year. Planning to attend at-tend from this area of the Uvada Stake are Carma Izeman, Violet Fife, Evangeline Wuertz, Georgia Moyle. Rosilla Hills, Nellie Moyle and Edna Thorley. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Holt and their four children had a pleasant pleas-ant trip to Zlon National Park last week. They spent the whole week camping out and then traveled tra-veled to Delta where they spent the night with Mrs. Holt's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Snow, then went to to Salt Lake for Conference. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Atkin of California were visiting with Mrs. Atkin's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray V. Hunt, last week end. The June meeting of the Escalante Es-calante Valley Women's Club was held in the old Gibson house where the quilts are on the frames. The ladies quilted for a while and then adjourned to the home of Mrs. Aliene Smith where she and her co-hostess Mrs. Beth Curtis, served delicious refreshments. |
