Show i W. A. Jones Conducts Shade Tree Conference at Provo W. Arthur Jones, Cedar City, . president, state committee of the Association of Utah Shade Tree Commissions, conducted a most interesting conference at Provo Saturday, at which outstanding men In the field of botany and landscaping addressed a large representation of delegates from all parts of the state. The conference was held In the Joseph Smith Memorial Building on the Brigham Young I University campus. Principal address ad-dress was by Dr. Ernest S. Relm-schlssel, Relm-schlssel, professor of botany at B Y U. A panel discussion on such maters ma-ters as planting, pruning and care of shade trees, comparison of common and unusual shade trees, and a nurseryman's viewpoint. view-point. Participating in the discussions dis-cussions were Dr. Leonard Pollard, Pol-lard, head of the department of agronomy at U S U; Arthur Tlet-thman, Tlet-thman, U S U; Dr. David Lofgren, Salt Lake Horticultural and Land scape Consultant of the LDS Church; Wayne Freckleton, man- . ager, Redwood Nurserys of Salt Lake City. Luncheon was held at the Joseph Jo-seph Smith building, followed by ( a tour of the D Y U campus and the city of Provo, conducted by Dr. Relmschlssel.
