Show Guardsmen Begin Training at 1958 Encampment CAMP W. G. WILLIAMS, Jordan Jor-dan Narrows A full schedule of training activities awaited Utah National Guardsmen from the Cedar City area who arrived here Sunday for their 1958 summer sum-mer encampment. Attending camp from June 15 to June 29 are all units of the XI Corps Artillery, including units of the 213th Field Artillery Artil-lery Bu. from southern Utah Lt. Col. Max S. Dalley is command-ing command-ing officer of the 213th. The Guard's 1958 encampment was divided Into two sessions, with engineer units attending from June 8 to 22, and artiilery units at camp from June 15 to 29. The special troops units are divided between the two summer camps. Lt. Col. The Guard's XI Corps Artil lery is made up of two groups, the 222nd with headquarters in Ogden, and the 145th, with headquarters head-quarters in Provo, and a separate separ-ate battalion, the 653rd Field Ar tillery Observation Battalion, located lo-cated at Fort Douglas. The southern Utah group is made up of two battalions, the 145th, with units at Provo, Mt. Pleasant, Spanish Fork, Nephi, and Manti, and the 213th with elements at Cedar City, Richfield, Rich-field, St George, Fillmore and Beaver. The northern Utah group also has two battalions, the 204th with units at Logan, Smithfield, Brlgham City and Garland, and the 222nd, with elements at Ogden Og-den and Layton. |
