Show NEWCASTLE Visitors in the Los Angeles area last week were Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Christensen and small son Lynn, where they were guests of Norma's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Parley Par-ley Deem of Lakewood, Calif. Mrs. Arthella Taylor of Fillmore Fill-more Journeyed to Cedar City last week to visit with her daughter Diane, who is a student stu-dent at the CSU. Another daughter daugh-ter and her husband, Mr, and Mrs. George Beacham of New Castle, visited with Mrs. Taylor during her stay in Cedar City. Mrs. Iva Harrison visited for awhile In New Harmony last week with her father Ashby Pace, and her sister and her family, Mr. and Mrs. Darce Prince. , Mrs. Effie Beacham is living temporarly in Cedar City where she is currently employed. :Melvin Hulet went to Los Angeles An-geles last week on business. Miss Carol Lee Esplin of Order-ville, Order-ville, now a student at CSU, was a visitor last week end at the home of her sister and her family, fam-ily, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hart. A Fireside was held last Sunday Sun-day evening at the home of Mr. und Mrs. Warren Piatt. After the meeting, refreshments were served serv-ed and games were played. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Hart visited in Cedar City last week with their daughter and her family, Mr. and Mrs. Bob (Jane) Nelson. Word was received in town this week of the death of Mrs. Amy Knell, long time resident of Newcastle. Her funeral was held in the Newcastle Ward hall and she was buried In Pinto, where she and her family resided for a number of year. A March of Dimes benefit party par-ty was held last week In the Es-calante Es-calante Valley Community hall. A large number of our townspeople towns-people attended, and everyone had en enjoy.il! time. Pink bye has been going around these parts for the past two weeks and almost every family In town has been affected by one of more members suffering suffer-ing from the ailment. |
