Show lean Valson Named Winner in Homemaker Contest ' JEAN WATSON The I960 Betty Crocker Home-maker Home-maker of Tomorrow at the Cedar City High School is senior Jean Watson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Dee Watson. She received the highest score In 50-tnlnute written examination on home- making knowledge and attitudes taken by graduating senior girls. She will receive distinctive Homemaker of Tomorrow pin, a badge of honor symbolizing that "Home Is Where the Heart Is." The test, which was prepared and judged by Science Research Associates of Chicago, was taken by a record number of 279,018 girls in 12,597 schools. "Miss Watson's entry will be judged along with other state winners for the state Homemaker of Tomorrow, with the winner to receive a $1,500 scholarship and an eductional trip April 23-29 with her school advisor. The runner-up in each state will compete In a national contest for a $3,000 scholarship. Jean Is an active member of the High School. She is President Presi-dent of the Future Homemakers of America Club, member of the Band, United Nations Club, and the Pep Club, and Is rated high in her class scholastically. |
