A pott I t Church of Jowt Christ of Lottor-doy Sointa Two prominent leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints will address the quarterly quar-terly conference of Parowan Stake on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 13 and 14, according to a news release received by Howard D. Knight, stake president, the first of the week. The visiting officials are Elder Henry D. Taylor, an assistant to the Council of Twelve Apostles, and Elder Walter Stover, a member mem-ber of the General Welfare Committee. Com-mittee. Elder Taylor served as president of the California Mission Mis-sion from 1955 to 1958 when he was called to his present position. posi-tion. All conferences held In 1960 will focus emphasis on youth development de-velopment as part of a special Church-wide parents and youth program launched early this year by President David O. McKay. Mc-Kay. The conference will commence with a Welfare meeting at 6:30 p. m. Saturday for all committee members of both ward and stake expected to attend. This will be followed by a special leadership meeting at 8 p. m. Letters have gone out from the stake presidency presi-dency to all who are expected to attend this meeting, which along with the Welfare meeting will be held In the Third Ward chapel. The general sessions of the conference will be held at 10 a. m. and 2 p. m. on Sunday in the Third Ward chapel. Music for the general sessions will be furnished furnish-ed by the Parowan Third Ward choir under the direction of Mrs. Shirley Evans, with Mrs. Mary Lyman as accompanist. Senior members of the Aaronic priesthood priest-hood will serve as ushers at conference con-ference sessions. The MIA session of conference will be held at 7 p. m. Sunday also in the Third Ward chapel, President Knight states with a special Boy Scout court of honor to be a part of the program. |
