Show Student Receives Laboratory Study Grant Duane J. Gubler of Santa Clara and a senior at College of Southern South-ern Utah has been named as one of four undergraduate students to participate in research programs pro-grams in the anatomy department depart-ment of the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks, N.D., this summer. The program sessions will be held from June 12 to August 5 and are sponsored by a $2,905 grant from the National Science Foundation, according to Dr. Vernon L. Yeager, assistant pro- fessor of anatomy, director of the program. The other three students selected to participate are Gerald D. Elseth of Newfolden, Minn.; David M. Holloway, Omaha, Nev. and Melvin A. Ochs, Charles City, Iowa. Gubler will work with Dr. Yeager, Yea-ger, studying a chemical which affects the skin. Other students will work with other professors in separate projects. The undergraduate participation participa-tion program enables the students stu-dents to take an active part in a research program at the professional profes-sional level, Dr. Yeager said. This is not a series of courses of study, he said, but real labroa-tory labroa-tory exjerience together with the principal investigator and his research problem. |
