Show ROTARY 9. MILNE 3 Tuesday night a tie in the league lead was broken as the Rotary Rangers came from behind be-hind to defeat the Milne Truckers. Truck-ers. Milne started it off with a bang scoring three runs in the top of the first inning on only one hit, by Dick Clyde, and four errors. Rotary was held scoreless through the first two innings but came back to take the lead in the bottom of the third. The first batter walked and came on to score on a past ball. Two more walks were given up followed by a double by Petty and a single sin-gle by Arthur Challis to push in four runs. In the fourth Rotary added three on three hits including includ-ing a three run homer by Isom and two more runs were added in the fifth. Isom. after allowing three runs in the first, shutout the Milne crew and gave out only two hits in the contest. He collected a total of 13 strikeouts. Wayne F.splin was the losing pitcher giving up only six hits and collecting col-lecting a total of nine strikeouts. |
