Show I Holiday Visits Recorded for Parowanites I Spending the Christmas Holidays Holi-days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lucius M. Benson were their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Benson, from Provo and their daughter, Miss Yvonne Benson Ben-son who is home from her school teaching position in California. Spending the holiday season with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Slmkins, are their son, John and daughter, Dorothy. Both live in Salt Lake City. John is attending at-tending the U of U and Dorothy is teaching school. Spending the holiday season at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Osmer Nielson, are their sons, Warren and Allen, both of whom are students at the University of Utah In Salt Lake City. Spending the Christmas vacation vaca-tion at the Elmer Gurr home are Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Gurr of Provo. Pro-vo. Delmar is attending BYU and Mrs. Gurr Is teaching school in Provo. For the Christmas week end Mr. and Mrs. Wimmer Mortensen enjoyed visits from all the members of their family. Their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Mortenson and two sons of Provo, a son Lyle, who is home from a government assignment assign-ment In the Pacific Northwest a daughter, Delores, were all here for the holiday season. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Holyoak, who are teaching school In the Salt Lake area, were In Parowan to spend the Christmas week end with Owen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen S. Holyoak. Mr. and Mrs. Silas Topham and their son David left here Christ-day Christ-day Day as members of the College Col-lege of Southern Utah tour which will spend the entire holiday season sea-son sightseeing In Mexico. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Evana and two sons of San Clemente, Calif, were here to spend the Christmas Christ-mas week with Dan's people, Mr. and Mrs. Qefford Evans and . family. Spending the Christmas week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Benson, were their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clair Benson and two children, chil-dren, of Carlsbad, N. M. They returned to their home Sunday morning.' Joining the W. Clair Rowley family members here for Christmas Christ-mas week were their son-in-law and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. Carlson Carl-son Terry and children and their son Rodney Rowley. The Terrys are now residents of Murray and Rodney is living and working in Washington, D. C and attending the University of Maryland. Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Topham and family joined the group for a father get-together on Christmas Day. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Richards of Dallas, Tcxafc, arrived In Utah to spend the Christmas holidays. They first vis.ted with Mrs. Richard's Rich-ard's people In Monroe, and are now in Parowan visiting with Mrs. Jane Richards and other relatives and friends. Enjoying visits from their children chil-dren during the holiday season ' are Mr. and Mrs. Claude Adams. Their son-in-law and daughter, I Mr. and Mrs. Richard Halterman and family have been here from 'Salt Lake City, as has their son David Adams, who is employed there. Spending a portion of the holiday holi-day season at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Orton were their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Chad Orton. Chad is attending at-tending USU at Logan and Mrs. Orton is head matron of one of the large dormitories on the campus. cam-pus. Errol Orton, also a student of the Logan, school, is also at home for the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Whitney left during the week for; rrovo where they spent Christmas with their son Homer and daughter Elaine, and the members of their families. famil-ies. They will remain there for the next two or three, weeks to be with their, children.;;. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Taylor' of Salt Lake arrived In Parowan Christmas night to spend the week end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ross F. Taylor and Mr. and Mrs. Sherwln Benson. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmle Hammell and family are here from Long Beach, Calif, to spend the holidays holi-days with the John S. Dalton family. Larry Stubbs, came from Salt Lake City during the week to spend Christmas with his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Stubbs and other members of the family, Larry Is an employee at the Sperry Rand plant In Salt Lake. When Larry returned -to Salt Lake City, he was accompanied by his mother. Spending Christmas at the hnma of Mr. and Mrs. Rav H. Adams were their children, Miss Marie Adams of Salt Lake City, and "ons, Charles, Provo and Kenneth, of Clearfield, Utah. . Mr. and Mrs. Clark Mitchell, were In Parowan to spend the Christmas week with Clark's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Mitchell and his sister, Kathy. . Mr. and Mrs. Tom Dobrusky who are living In Salt Lake City where Tom Is attending the University Uni-versity of Utah, are home to be with their people over the Christmas Christ-mas holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Hulet and family of Kanab were here to spend Christmas with their people, Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Hulet Hu-let and Mrs. and Mrs. Tom Lem-mon Lem-mon and members of ther families. fam-ilies. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lloyd and family of Henderson, Nev. were In Parowan to Rpend the Christians Christ-ians week end with Mrs. Lloyd's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Benson and family. MSgt. and Mrs. Wllford E. Benson and their three children visited with Wllford's father, Roy Benson, and other members of his family here during the holidays. holi-days. They also visited with Mrs. Benson's people, the Roy Watters in Orem. They left the first of the week to return to their home in El Paso, T.-xas. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Mitchell were happy to have with them Mrs. Mitchell's two daughters and their families over the first week of the holiday season. Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Lay and young daughter of San Jose, Calif, and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Klalch and son of Houston, Texas arrived In Parowan on Monday, Dec. 21 and remained with the Mitchell until un-til sunday, Dec. 27. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mario Topham during the holiday season, were their son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Topham of Logan and their son, Sanford, who la attending the U of U In I Salt Lake City. |
