Show TWO-STAKE MEET Church Youths Launch Giant Rally Sunday Cedar and Parowan Stake youths will assemble at the Cedar Ce-dar Stake House Sunday evening, eve-ning, Jan. 3 to participate In a giant youth rally of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. The assembly at the Cedar Stake House Is expected to draw some 1000 youths from Iron County, and is just one of several other similar meetings throughout through-out the church system with a total listening audience of some half million youths. This meeting, sponsored here by the Stake MIA, will be the kick-off meeting of a 13-week series of Sunday night gatherings gather-ings in which the young people will hear messages of inspiration and counsel from top church officials, offi-cials, and will discuss among themselver. the problems facing youth today. Following the Jan. 3 meeting the 13-week series will be held in the individual wards, according accord-ing to Elwood J. Corry, Cedar Stake president President David O. McKay will give the keynote address at the meeting Sunday evening. Each of the 12 subsequent Sunday Sun-day .light meetings, or "firesides," "fire-sides," will be keynoted by other oth-er leading church officials in Salt Lake City, their addresses being relayed by radio broadcast or recordings to young people assembled as-sembled in the separate wards. Purpose of the meetings, as outlined by church officials, Is "to stimulate greater faith and devotion, and to protect the young people against tendencies toward delinquency abroad in the land today." Some of the subjects to be treated are: adherance to church standards of conduct, choosing of friends, responsibility of young men to the young woman they date, responsibilities of young woman In dating relationships, chaperonage of dates, "steady" dating, use of car In dating, dangers dan-gers of "petting" and "necking" on dates, dating on the Sabbath, and dating and ultimate marriage. mar-riage.
