By Rilma Lamoreaux All members of the Parowan State Presidency were in Para-gonah Para-gonah on Sunday to attend the church meetings and to Install a new bishopric in the Paragon ah Ward. James H. '. Anderson was ' sustained sus-tained as the new bishop, with Clark Lamoreaux as first couse-lor couse-lor and William S. Boafdman as second counselor. The new members mem-bers replace Victor R, Robinson, who is leaving Paragonah, and James Orson Talbot, whose health has been rather poor of late. Kenneth G. Topham remained remain-ed as ward clerk. Mrs. Lula Bastion entered the Iron County hospital on Sunday for surgery which was performed ' on Monday and pronounced a success. Walter Talbot was away from town from Thursday to Sunday for a holiday visit with his son Roy of Kaysvllle, daughter Alice of American Fork and the Wesley Wes-ley Lister of Salt Lake City. The children of Mr. a.d Mrs. Ward S. Robb of Cedar City are visiting here with their grandparents, grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Robb. The parents are on a trip to Denver, Cola Mr. and Mrs. Walter Robb en-Joyed en-Joyed Christmas In Cedar City with the Ward Robb family. The Christmas Holiday was the occasion for numerous visitors visit-ors to town as family gatherings seemed to be In style. The Austin Barton hame was filled with all available family members. Miss Vesta Rae Barton and the Roy Ortons came from Salt Lake City. Lynn and his family were here from California and when family dinner was served on Friday they were Joined Join-ed by the BUI Bartons of Parowan Paro-wan and the Douglas Mickelsons of Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Abbott and their children of Murray arrived ar-rived on Thursday to hang up their stockings at the Myrtle Abbott Ab-bott home and to visit here until Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John Foster of Kearns were here for a few days' visit with Mrs. Foster's mother, Mrs. Olive Edwards. They were Joined for Christmas dinner by the Ralph Edwards family of Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. II. H. Klpp and daughter Jean of San Gabriel, Calif., were here from Thursday to Sunday for a holiday visit with the James Stones family. Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Dunton and their children were In town last week for a visit with Mrs. Catherine Dunton and Leo Dun-ton. Dun-ton. : . . : . " , Miss Sherry Lynn Diel has gone to Tooele for a holiday visit vis-it with her folks. Mr. and Mrs. Farrel Robb and their baby were down from Salt Lake City for several days last week visiting with the Will Robb family here and in Parowan with Mrs. Robb's parents, the Clair Listers. Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Berry and their son and daughter are here from California for a few days visit during the holidays. Mrs. June Topham Is the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City for treatment. ' Holiday week end visitors (it the K. Doyle Robinson home w.'e Mr. and Mrs. Burgess Robinson and Miss Ivy Robinson. Lanell Topham Is home from Salt Lake City to spend the vacation va-cation with b's mother, Mrs. Bertha Ber-tha S. Topham. A talent show was presented In the school auditorium on Monday Mon-day evening to raise money for the Ward building fund. The program pro-gram was sponsored by some of the MIA classes. Several talented tal-ented young people from Parowan Paro-wan were here to appear on the program. Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Robinson have received word of the birth of a new great grandchild. A boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Bill Evans of Syracuse, N. Y. on Dec. 27. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Evans of Parowan are the grandparents. A ward party will be held on Monday evening, Jan. 4 in honor of the retiring bishopric and their families. The party will be held in the school auditorium and Is scheduled to begin at 7:30. A program is to be presented to be followed by dancing and refreshments. re-freshments. All ward members are invited and an invitation is extended to former ward members mem-bers who are living in the surrounding sur-rounding area. Mrs. Meiva Barton and her Sunday School class members en-Joyed en-Joyed a lovely birthday party at the Barton home on Sunday eve ning. Mr. and Mrs. Renford Talbot and their family departed for California on Sunday for a holiday holi-day visit with the Steve Adams family In Anaheim. Their son Kent and his wife and baby had been here for Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Benson welcomed wel-comed their first son on Dec. 22 at the Iron County Hospital. Mrs. Benson was able to come home on Christmas Day to be with the little girls and the baby was brought home later. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stevens and their two daughters of El Cajon, Calif., have been here for a holiday holi-day visit with the Ivan Robb family here and with Jack's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Stevens Ste-vens of Parowan. Edwin Williamson has gone to Las Vegas to spend the winter. His son Clenn and famly came to get him early last week. . Mrs. Scott Barton and daughter Carolyn li&vo gone to Salt Lake City to see a specialist Young Miss Barton has been suffering from a kidney disorder for several sever-al months. Miss Gladys Edwards has gone to Salt Lake City to spend the winter months with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. H. Revere Robinson Rob-inson entertained on Sunday in honor of the Victor R. Par-owan. A number of Paragonah relatives were present also. Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Partner and son Max were home from Enterprise Enter-prise for Christmas. The Harold Bradshaws of Adamsville spent Saturday here visiting with the J. Leonard Top-hams. Top-hams. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Hansen and family of Salt Lake City arrived here on Christmas Day for a few days visit with the William T. Davenport family. Mr. and Mrs. Orson Talbot were happy to have members of their family with them for the holidays.
