Show Mrs. Elmer Mitchell Suffers Severe Leg Injury Mrs. Elmer Mitchell, who with Mrs. Silas Topham, have acted as co-chairmen of this year's annual an-nual clean-up campaign in Parowan, Par-owan, and have done a very fine Job, suffered a very severe leg injury on Tuesday evening of last week while operating a power pow-er lawn mower on a vacant strip of giound on Main Street. Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs. Carol A. Wright, were mowing weeds on the strip of ground lying between be-tween 100 South and the new Phillips 66 station o n200 South when the accident occurred. Wc understand she had just taken the mower over from Mrs. Wright when the fast revolving blade threw a Hi inch long piece of wire into the calf of her leg with such force that it was buried in the flesh. The wire went in length wise cutting a wound the length of the wire, severing muscles and blood vessels. The cut bled profusely, pro-fusely, and before help could be summoned and she could be gotten got-ten to the doctor's office, she had lost a large amount of blood. Mrs. Wright and Ted Burton got her to the office of Dr. Wllkerson where another cut had to be made the length of the wire, nnri rrnsRwIsp of the first CUt, In order to get the wire out. The wound then required 16 stitches to close it up we are told. She has been convalescing from the injury at home and will remain re-main away from her work in the Dixie Forest Office for several more days, it is reported. |
