Show HEWS FROM PARAGONAH j Mrs. Hilma Lamoraeaux Mrs. Ruth Boardman was called call-ed to California recently because of the death of her mother, Mrs. liattle P. Cox, who passed away on June 14 at Arlington. Bill and Curtis Joined with her In California Cali-fornia for the funeral services held on June 17 at San Bernardino, Bernar-dino, Calif. The three returned home together the following day. Mrs. Cox visited at the Boardman home here many times before her health failed. Mr. and Mrs. J. Leonard Top-ham Top-ham and Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Jones and son Vergen were In Salt Lake City last week end. The Tophams traveled there Friday, and the Jones family made the trip Saturday. Saturday Satur-day evening they attended graduation grad-uation exercises of the Stevens-Henegars Stevens-Henegars Business College held at Kingsbury Hall. Vergen was one of the 170 graduates, having completed his schooling at the Ogden school In mid-winter. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Jones of San-toquin San-toquin and Mr. and Mrs. Le-grande Le-grande Leigh of Ogden joined the group there and the Jones family went on to Ogdcn with them to spend Sunday. Bruce Stones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mario Stones of Cedar City, is visiting here this week with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Stones. Relatives here were greatly concerned when they learned that Farrell Robb had been seriously ser-iously injured In a motorcycle accident on Tuesday of last week. He was returning from his work efst of Salt Lake City when his motorcycle struck some gravel in a construction area and he was thrown some 95 feet down an embankment He is hospitalized at the Cottonwood LDS Hospital in Murray where surgery has been performed to put a pin in his thigh. One leg was broken In three places and theif wore chipped bones in the other leg. It is expected that he will be in traction for three months. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Ttobb and two children of Orem visited here from Friday to Sunday with Will Robb. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Maxwell and Mr. and Mrs. James L. Maxwell Max-well of Glendale were recent visitors vis-itors at the Wilson Lund home. Mr. and Mrs. John Maxwell of Toquerville were here Wednesday Wednes-day of last week to see Mrs. Elizabeth Maxwell. Mrs. Maxine Barton and daughter Phyllis of Milford visited at the Lund home from Wednesday to Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Murl Gibson were here from Cedar City Sunday and Mr. and Mrs. Rex Maxwell and daughter Patsy of Cedar City were Sunday visitors at the Lund home. Mrs. Olive Maxwell was here on Monday to care for her mother-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. D, Amasa Stones spent Saturday at Rryrp Canyon where Mr. Stones attended the School Board Conference in session ses-sion there. Mrs. Leona Stones was In St. George Friday to attend the temple tem-ple wedding of her grandson, Blair Mitchell, who was married to Carta Harrison. Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Stones and a number of other Paragonah people were In Cedar City the same evening to attend the wedding wed-ding reception. Two more building missionaries mission-aries arrived in town last week to help with the Ward building project They are Frank Hoyt of Vermont and Milton Casad of Washington. Mr. ana Airs. Byron Montague and daughter Mary Jo of Payson visited here with Mabel's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Davenport Daven-port last week. They were here Tuesday and Wednesday before going on to Las Vegas, Boulder Dam and Glen Canyon. They came back to Paragonah for an overnight stay before returning home Sunday. Roy McBrlde is visiting with family members In Riverton, Wyoming at present. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Dally and son Roger were here over the week end of June 8th and took him back to Wyoming with them. Robert Limb of Beaver visited j here from Sunday to Thursday of . last week with his grandparents, ' Mr. and Mrs. James II. Anderson. On Sunday the entire Limb fam-' fam-' lly came to spend Father's Day f In Paragonah. i Mrs. Fay Thornton and family, I including son-in-law and daugh-' daugh-' tcr Mr. and Mrs. Bud Roberts, all of Moses Lake, Washington visited vis-ited here recently with Mrs. Ed a i Thornton and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thornton. Mrs. Eda Thornton observed her birthday anniversary last Saturday and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Her-bert Walker Jt Cedar City were here for the occasion. Family dinner In her honor was served at the Earl Thornton home. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Dalton en-Joyed en-Joyed a week's vacation In Salt Lake City with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Inglesby and their two sons. Mr. Dalton also kept an oppointment rMh hl doctor. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth G. Top-' Top-' ham, son Lynn Kay and the latter'a girl friend traveled to Panguitch Sunday to see Paul' Ine's father, Joseph Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Robinson and family and Mrs. Ruby Bauer of Cedar City were here to spend 1 Fathers Day with Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Robinson. I A Fathers Day family gathering gather-ing at the H. Revere Robinson , home Sunday Included Mrs. Donna Don-na Jolley and her children of , Cedar City and Mr. and Mrs. Dee White and their family of Sum- mlt. Mrs. Idella Robinson and her granddaughter Barbara Manzione were overnight visitors at the Dee White home in Summit Friday. Fri-day. Little Miss Manzione is here from Tooele to spend a few weeks with her grandparents. Monday Mrs. Robinson and Barbara Bar-bara traveled to Cedar City for the birthday celebration of little Linda Jolley. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Board-man Board-man and son Travis arrived here from Garrison Sunday evening to visit with relatives. Lola Ann and the baby remained for a few days while Charles returned to his work. Joe Lamoreaux and daughter Mlna traveled to Salt Lake City Saturday, accompanied by Miss Gay Lynn Benson of Beaver. Mina remained in the city while the others returned home Sunday, Sun-day, bringing Mrs. Lamoreaux with them. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Engle-stead Engle-stead are here visiting with their daughter, Mrs. Gwen Jones. They brought the four children of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Linford of Henderson Hen-derson with them to visit In this area for a time. On Monday of last week Mr. and Mrs. Englestead and Mrs. Jones traveled to Panguitch to attend the funeral services for a relative, Gren D. Owens, who had passed away following a heart attack. Mr. and Mr. Clark Robb are enjoying a visit from their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Guerin and five children child-ren of Livermore, California. The family arrived here Saturday of last week to visit until the end of the month. Mrs. Zelma Robb and daughter Mrs. Penney Ward traveled to California last week to attend the wedding reception for a friend, Miss Sherrle Berry. They were accompanied ac-companied by Mr. and Mrs. Del Holyoak of Milford. |
