Show Juzior High School Xmas Giving Plan Launched Again A plan that Is fast becoming a tradition at the Cedar City Junior Jun-ior High School is going forward this week. The students and teachers are pooling their pennies and nick-les nick-les for the purpose of buying needed food and supplies for those who are in need at this Christmas season. This plan replaces re-places the old Idea of giving presents to each other at the annual an-nual Christmas party. The students are fast becom-i lng more conscious of the troe meaning of Christmas through this actilty. Each year they ask if they can contlnde on with the giving project rather tfian the re-ceiving re-ceiving Idea. Many very worhwhile and helpful presents have been given giv-en the past few years. One year a girl who had had the misfortune misfor-tune to lose an arm and a leg was entirely fitted out with typewriter, type-writer, table and other apparatus to hel.-j In her condition. Another a boy who had polio and become paralyzed in his legs) was given a typewriter and with that start he is now preparing to be an office secretary. These and many other young people have been helped through the Junior High Christmas cheer funds. Whenever the fund has been insufficint to take care of the needy student the Cedap City Elks Lodge has given its support to the Junior high which has been greatly appreciated. |
