Show John D. Corry Killed In Highway Accident John Douglas "J. D." Corry, 21. former popular Cedar City High School athlete, was killed early this morning (thursday) In an automobile accident on Highway 93, near Caliente, Nev. The young man, traveling alone, apparently dozed at the wheel and his car swerved onto on-to the soft shoulder of the highway high-way and before he could bring It under control, the car crashed into a culvert and turned over. The driver was thrown from the car and apparently died instantly. instant-ly. The accident was discovered by -passing motorsts, who drove to Caliente and reported it to officers, of-ficers, who investigated and notified no-tified the boy's parents In Cedar City. J. D. was born in Cedar City Dec. 9, 193G, a son of Douglas and Annie Goudge Corry, and had spent his life here except for a few months this year while he was working In California. He graduated from the Cedar City High School In May, 1955, after having been active in athletics as a member of the basketball and track teams. He is survived by his parents, one sister, Connie Ann, of Cedar City, and a grandmother, Mrs. Robert Aiken, Portland, Ore. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. |
