Show Bid Invitation Mailed Contractors On Greens Lake Watershed Project Invitations to bid on the Green's Lake Watershed project were mailed from Cedar City Corporation offices i early this week in the final plu e before the awarding of bids in this two-year-old program ! Warren Bulloch, chairman of the Watershed committee, com-mittee, announced that over GO construction contractors in the intermountain area were sent invitations to bid on the project and any other bidders who are interested are advised to pick up necessary information at the city oftlces in Cedar City. Date for the opening of bUn has been set for Wednesday,! Ian. 15, at 2 p. m. At that time bids will be publicly opened and read. Thre Phase Schedules Bid schedules which have been prepared In three phases include the construction of five earth fill sediment retention and water retarding dams and a floodway channel In the area lo. cated about two miles southeast of Cedar City on the face of "Square Mountain." plus a retarding re-tarding dam at the mouth of crosshollow in the vicinity of the race track south of the city. ---D.Claude Urle of the Iron County Soil-Conservation District has been designated as project supervisor for the project and he will be responsible for instruction instruc-tion to prospective bidders Including In-cluding on site Inspections. The committee, according to Bulloch, has Indicated that work on the project should be started on or about March 3, 1958 and the project, under the agreement with the committee and the sue cessful bidders will be completed In 200 calendar days, or approximately approx-imately by Sept. 20, 1958. Date for the beginning of construction con-struction may vary, however, de-pending de-pending on weather conditions at the work sites.
