Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING The children of David and Annie An-nie Spilsbury met in Cedar City at the Myron and Clyde Higbee homes for a three day reunion, June 11 through 13th. Those enjoying en-joying the annual affair together were Josephine and her husband, W. L. Bramwell of Los Angeles, Mrs. J. J. (Genevieve) Hayes, Leslie D. Spilsbury and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Spilsbury of Salt Lake City; Afton and her husband, Don C. Wright of Glendale, Calif., and Mrs. John W. (Lolene) Stokes, Stuart, Florida. Another family member, Whitney R. Spi-bury of Pennsylvania, was unable to attend. The group spent a portion of their time in their home town of Toquerville, where they renewed family histories. his-tories. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Nelson and Mrs. Beulah Stephens this week are Mrs. Sarah Burton and her daughter Oane of Glendale, California. I In Salt Lake City for a combined com-bined business and pleasure trip this past week were Mr. and Mrs. Dex Cowley. In Cedar City for a short visit with his parents are James Roberts Ro-berts and his wife Dale. They are guests at the home of Mr. and mrs. josepn w. KODerts. James Wayne Roberts has recently recent-ly returned from South Viet Nam where he was stationed for over 12 months. Mrs. Roberts has resided re-sided in Englewood, California. While in Utah they planned to visit with Dale's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Stoker of Spanish Fork. Mr. Roberts will report for duty at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, to complete five more months in service. His wife will accompany accom-pany him to El Paso for the season sea-son but will return to Englewood in the Fall to resume her teaching teach-ing duties. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Roberts will meet their son and daughter-in-law in Salt Lake City later this month where they will visit with Mr. and Mrs. Gale Roberts prior to Wayne's departure depar-ture for Texas. Guests at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Orson Tait and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Berry this past week have been Mr. and Mrs. Kemp Spencer and children of Las Vegas, Nev. Last week Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Dar-win Nelson's son-in-law John Kennlcott and one of his daughters daugh-ters of Illinois visited here briefly. The Bulloch ranch on Cedar Mountain was the scene for a family get-together over the weekeni. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Bulloch entertained for Mrs. Bulloch's Bul-loch's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Barney, Mr. and Mrs. Denton Top-ham Top-ham and children and Miss Judy Barney of Spanish Fork were in attendance. Mrs. Mike Waters and children, child-ren, fromer Cedar City people were here last week visiting with friends. The Waters family also spent some time in Parowan with relatives before returning to their abode in Las Vegas. Former Cedar City residents Ruthell and Donald Haycock and children arrived in this area Saturday Sa-turday from their home in Lander, Lan-der, Wyoming. Saturday evening and Sunday they spent time in Parowan with Donald's parents and with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Scott Mitchell, who celebrated cel-ebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary June 15th. This week the Haycock's are guests at the home of Mrs. Haycock's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Lamor-eaux. Lamor-eaux. They plan to return to Lander Lan-der Sunday. Dr. Robert Parry, his wife Betty Bet-ty and their children Linda and Gronway. landed at the Cedar City airport Saturday in a private pri-vate plane. They were greeted by Dr. Parry's sister Carol Ann. The visit was a suprise occasion to honor Gronway Parry of Cedar Ce-dar City on Father's Day. Following Fol-lowing and enjoyable get-together with the family here Dr. Parry Par-ry and family flew to Grand Can-yon Can-yon where they visited briefly with Mr. and Mrs. Dale Parry. Mr. and Mrs. Parson Webster are enjoying the company of their daughter Marjorle and her four children from Rancho Car-dova, Car-dova, California and their daughter-in-law along with her two children of Reno, Nevada. Marge (Mrs. Daniel E. Nelson) and Wil-ma Wil-ma ( Mrs. Dan Webster) are attending at-tending Summer school sessions at the College of Southern Utah. They will make their home at the Parson Websters until late In July. In Cedar City to attend the farewell testimonial of their brother, bro-ther, Elder Spencer Jones were Mrs. Arnold (Janet) Gilbert of Brigham City, Dr. and Mrs. Milton Mil-ton B. Jones of Ukiah, California, and Mr. and Mrs. Craig Jones of Provo. The family members got together at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. William A. Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Craig Jones accompanied the missionary to the Mission Home in Salt Lake City. Milton and Janet and their famines remained in ceaar City where they will visit for several more days. |
