Show Winners Announced In Popular Model Car Contest Wide Interest has been evidenced evi-denced this past month in a Special Model Car contest conducted con-ducted by the F. W. Woolworth Co. in Cedar City. Ninety-five entries were received re-ceived and judging was held and winners announced this week. First and second place winners In the senior and Junior Jun-ior division were awarded tro phles and ribbons were issued to those named for honorable mention. The judging team consisted of Collins Rowley, shop teacher at the lunior high school; Howard Thorley, manager of Thorley Ford, Inc., and Leonard Smith, sales representative for Brad-Bhaw Brad-Bhaw Chevrolet Co. First place winner in the senior sen-ior division was John Hlckhan, 16. In the junior division the first place trophy was awarded to Stanton Creel, 11. Barry Peters, 16, captured second sec-ond place honors in the senior division and Eddy Nelson, 11, won the second place trophy In the junior division. Those receiving honorable mention men-tion In the junior division Included In-cluded Dale Gardner, 9; Roger Esplin, 12, and Lowman Nelson, Nel-son, 12. Dennis Smith, 13: David Mun-ford, Mun-ford, 18, and Leith Howard, 13, all won honorable mention ribbons rib-bons in the senior division of the contest. The models have been on display dis-play in the window of the Cedar City firm' place of business. |
