Cox, division commercial manager for California-Pacific Utilities Company, Southern Utah Division, has been selected by his company to attend at-tend the public utilities executives execu-tives course at the University of Idaho at Moscow, Idaho, between July 8 and Aug. 2, 13. Announcement An-nouncement of the scholarship award was made by the Company Com-pany President E. K. Albert. Three other employees have also received scholarships from the company. Scholarships within the company are known as the James A. Ward Memorial scholarships. schol-arships. These were inaugurated in 1954 by Mr. Albert, as a memorial mem-orial tribute to the former president presi-dent of the company, James A. Ward. To date 31 employees have received one of these scholarships. scholar-ships. Two other Cedar City employees em-ployees have attended the course, Eearl A. Hansen, southern Utah division manager in 1957, and George D. Grimshaw, assistant Southern Utah Division manager in 1959. Attending from the company with Ted Cox this year will be John P. Vetromile, rate englneei at the general office In Sari Francisco; Leon K. Johnson, divl- , sion office manager at the com-I com-I pany's telephone system at Cov lusa, Calif., and Charles S. Ras-missen, Ras-missen, Baker district engineer-and engineer-and operating supervisor at Batter, Batt-er, Ore. In 1962, 11 western utility companies had men enrolled in ' the course. Admission is limited to a maximum of 36 men. Included In the course will I , business economics, employee t and public relations, rates ami costs, public utility regulation, management policies and procedures, proced-ures, and business law.' Ted Cox Joined the Southeri Utah Power Company in December, Decem-ber, 1941, and was with this company com-pany until it mented with California-Pacific Utilities Company in 1958. He has been an operator in both diesel and hydro plants, local manager at both Enterprise and Hurricane, purchasing agent at Cedar City, and in the engineering engi-neering department at Cedar City prior to being made division commercial manager in January of 12. He attended College of Southern South-ern Utah, majoring in engineering. engineer-ing. He has been Bishop of the Seventh Ward of the Cedar West Stake since September, 1955. Tel is very active in civic work, lie-is lie-is a director-elect in the Cedar City Lions Club. He enjoys hunting hunt-ing as his favorite sport. He is a certified Instructor in the Na- . tional Rifle Association, and in the Utah State Safety and Survival Sur-vival training course. His family fam-ily consists of his wife, LaVerle, and five children, three girls, and two boys. |
