Show Final Rites Accorded Mary I. Walker StevensonWednesday Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at the Cedar Ce-dar Sixth Ward chapel for Mary Irene Walker Stevenson, 58, who died Sunday, April 19 at the Valley Val-ley View Medical Center of natural na-tural causes. She was born In Frisco, Beaver County, June 14, 1905, to Joseph Arnold and Mary Ellen Jones Walker. She married James P. Stevenson, Feb. 19, 1923 In Provo and the marriage was later solemnized sol-emnized in the St. George LDS Temple. Mrs. Stevenson was a member of the Cedar Sixth Ward. Survivors Include her husband, Cedar City; one daughter, Mrs. Gam (Shirley Jean) Wilson, Cedar Ce-dar City; two randchlldren; one brother, Roland Walker, Cedar City, and a sister, Mrs. Clair (Lillian) (Lil-lian) Petty, Murray. Speakers at the services included in-cluded Sam Gentry and Bishop James Sandberg with a tribute from the neighbors read by Rene Robb. Musical selections Included a number "Peace I Leave With You," by the Singing Mothers of the Sixth Ward; a vocal solo, "Lay My Head Beneath a Rose," by Herschel Neeley and a selection selec-tion by a mixed quartet, consisting consist-ing of Mr. and Mrs. DeMoin Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Condie. Prayer at the Mortuary prior to the services was given by Ray V. Peterson. Invocation was by Sheldon Shel-don Pickering and benediction by Melvin D. Baldwin. Dedication of the grave at the Cedar City cemetery ceme-tery was by Doyle Cook. |
