Show Judging Is Completed By Art Department in CSU Vocational Day Final results of judging for art work exhibited at the annual College of Southern Utah Vocational Voca-tional Day have been announced by Professor Thomas A. Leek of the CSU Art Department. In announcing first, second and third place awards, Professor Leek stated that 135 works of art were on display at the exhibit exhi-bit with 53 students registered for participation in Vocational Day activities in the art department. depart-ment. He estimated that approximately approxi-mately 200 persons visited the display. The exhibit encompassed several se-veral media including oil, pastel, printmaking, drawings and water color. For the first time, works were also submitted in the sculptural sculp-tural media, Mr. Leek said. Judging was based on the aesthetic aes-thetic value of the work and the handling of the art medium. Judges included Mrs. Gwen Hunter, Hun-ter, Millard High School; Mrs. Laurel Christensen, Beaver High School; Vance Nielsen, South Se vier High School; Gary Hogan, Cedar City High School and Michael Clarke, Virgin Valley i High School in Mesquite, Nev. Students winning first place recognition included Phyllis Johnson, Dori Ormond, Mollie To-masyo To-masyo and Linda Lorensen (two awards), South Sevier High School; Leslie Cornelius, Susan Whittaker, Ron Sherman, Larry Nelson and Joan Farnsworth, Cedar Ce-dar City High School; Steve Staples, Stap-les, Janet Martin, Robert Day, Que Miller, Revo Shumway and Nancy Rasmussen (two awards), Millard High School; Verl Pack- |
