Show Inter-class Track Meet Set for Friday at Parowan Hi School Following a rather dismal day last Saturday at Ephraim where? they participated in the Snow-College Snow-College Invitational track and field Meet, the members of the Parowan team, along with the tennis squad, will remain at home this week end and participate partici-pate in an inter-class meet says Lowell Caldwell, coach of the two groups. This Friday afternoon the squad will square away in a two-division meet with the 7-8-9 grades competing in one division and the 10th-11th and 12th year groups in a second division. In i the junior division Mr. Caldwell intends to draw up some handicaps handi-caps to even up the events for the young boys. The senior division divi-sion program will be run on an even basis. Last Saturday in Kphraim Parowan Par-owan was awarded just one-half point on the qualifying mark of Jerry Mortensen in the 220 yard dash, which couldn't be finished because of the afternoon storm. This was accounted for on a time basis giving Mortensen a tie for I fifth place. ! In the tennis matches, which 1 were also stopped or delayed by jthe rain Richard Van Ausdal i won his first two matches and was then defeated in the semi-I semi-I final round and the doubles team j failed to win a match. I Caldwell states that after the , inter-class moot this Friday their will be no further track and field j competition until the Region meet at St. George the second wek end in May. |
