Show I HAPPENINGS IN THE ESCfiLANTE VALLEY Georgia Moyle WOMEN'S ORGANIZATION The ladies of the Escalante Valley spent a very enjoyable evening last Thursday night, April Ap-ril 16, at the home of Mrs. Mac Pickrell who received the guests as hostess with Mrs. Miriam Mc-Gary Mc-Gary as co-hostess. In the absence ab-sence of Pat Moyle, Mrs. Alene Smith, vice president, conducted the meeting. Parts of the Home Makers' Symposium sponsored by the Utah State Extension Service and KSL at Salt Lake City was given "Meal Magic" by Mary Mae Nelson Nel-son of Midvalley, "Accessories for You" by Elaine Nelson, also of Midvalley; "Lasting Values" by Nina Taylor and "Knowing Yourself" Your-self" by Jayne Bent ley, both of Parowan. Accompaning these ladies la-dies was home agent, Geraldine Noakes. Following this fine educational lecture and demonstration delicious deli-cious refreshments were served by the hostesses. During the evening prizes were awarded to the women being married the most years, the mother mo-ther with the most children and the grandmother with the most grandchildren. Those winning were Edith Force, Alene Smith. Mary Moyle, Edith Hunt and Marie Phelps. Mrs. Force was married the longest with 42 to the Force's credit. She has three living children, ten grandchildren grandchil-dren and five great- grandchildren. grandchil-dren. CHURCH ACTIVITIES Amonc those attending the I'vada Stal'e Leadership meeting held a Enterprise Sunday evening eve-ning were Augusta Hunt, Norman Laub, La u red a Prince, Georgia Moyle, Stan and Janene Holt, Pat Moyle. Nellie Moyle, Ann Terry Edna Thorley, Marilyn Holt and Kay Campbell. HERE AND THERE Alfred Force is home again after af-ter a long period in the Veteran's Hospital at Salt Lake City where he remained from March 1st until un-til the middle of April. A daughter, daugh-ter, Eleanor, and son-in-law, Ro-t Ro-t bert Hartman, of Salt Lake City brought Mr. Force home from the hospital. Visiting at the Force home over the week end was another daughter. Mrs. Mitchell I (Elouisei White, and children of Milford. Mrs. Reed Prince and daughter, Laureda, spent Saturday in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Prince traveled to New Harmony on Sunday where they visited with relatives and friends. Reed's father, James L. Prince, returned with them to the Escalante Valley Val-ley for a few days. Miss Lucile Hunt is home at present with her parents, the Ray V. Hunts, after her very interesting inter-esting adventure as an exchange student at Nepal. |
