Show COP Scholarship Awarded R. Christiansen A sophomore music student at College of Southern Utah has re- icelv.d a music scholarship to at tend College of the Pacific, at Stockton, Calif., next school year. Richard Christensen, Escalante, was named to the scholarship by Elliott J. Taylor, director of admissions ad-missions at COP. Mr. Christiansen has written a number of piano compositions, primarily of the prelude type. He was student director of the CSU presentation of the operas "Rig-oletto" "Rig-oletto" and "Down in the Valley." Val-ley." He has played for a number num-ber of campus programs and presented pre-sented a public recital this spring. The young pianist plans to major in theory and composition composi-tion until he completes his master's mas-ter's degree and then teach on the college level. He is the son of Mrs. Delia B. Christiansen, Cedar City. |
