Show SOCIAL SWING By Nola Kupfer Mr. and Mrs. Bill Esplln, Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Wood and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Macfarlane spent the past week end In Logan attending at-tending the Elks Convention. Mr. Wood Is exalted ruler of the local lo-cal Elks Lodge. A most enjoyable enjoya-ble time was had. Dr. and Mrs. G. F. Gardlneer of Washington, D. C, are announcing announc-ing the arrival of a baby girl, born June 11. The happy maternal mater-nal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Henry P. Dotson. Mrs. Gar-dineer Gar-dineer Is the former Eula Mae Dotson. Mrs. R. M. Boal returned from Las Vegas Saturday. Major Boal Is teaching at the Nellis Air Force Base and will return to the College of Southern Utah at the end of July. When Mrs. Boal ompletes their moving she will spend a few days In Las Vegas before going on to Los Angeles, Calif., and Tucson, Ariz., to visit Major Boal's parents. In honor of Mrs. Raymond Duerksen'g birthday, her club members gave her a cinyon pot luck party. Those present were Elva Benson, Zina Woolsey, Don- na Reld, Jean Robb, Utah Bar-rick, Bar-rick, Marlon Rosenberg, Pharol Adams, Wana Hoyle, Wanda Dockstader Collene Nelson, Af-ton Af-ton Duffis. A wonderful time was had by all. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Maughan and two of their four children, Pamela and Carolyn of Salt Lake City, were here to visit their many friends In Cedar City. They stayed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. McRay CI o ward. Mr. Maughan was a former coach at the College of Southern Utah. They are on their way to Los Angeles An-geles to show their children around Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm. Mr., and Mrs. Rex Jensen were here for the week end to visit Mrs. Jensen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. McDonald, and her sisters, Mrs. Eddie Goble and Mrs. Bentley. Mr. Jensen is recuperating recuperat-ing from a serious back operation. opera-tion. Mr. and Mrs. William Manning and Mr. and Mrs. George Man. nlng and daughter, Janet, left i Cedar City for California to visit friends and relatives. They plan to tour Yosemite National Park and Sequoia National Forest be-fort be-fort returning home. |
