Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING I Bridge Club was held this week at the home of Mrs. Llnford Orton. The members invited Mrs. Jack Crosby to be their guest. A lovely salad with hot rolls was served and prizes were won by Mrs. Collene Nelson, Mrs. Wanda Dockstader and Mrs. Phraol Adams. The remainder of the evening was spent visiting. Mrs. Lav.;'a Alger, who has been making her home in Cedar City with her son Jay Don Alger and grandson Donnie, will return re-turn to her home in Parowan this week end. Her neighbors and many friends surely hate to have her leave. Mrs. Clair Whitcomb of San Diego, Calif., who moved to Parowan Par-owan to be with her daughter and grandchildren, Mrs. James E. Bettridge, Trina and Holly, will be moving to Cedar City this Iweek end where she is employed at the College of Southern Utah. Her son, Barry M. Whitcomb, will move to Cedar as soon as he finishes fin-ishes his last year of high school in Parowan. The Young Couples Club met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer El-mer Cox. Club members are Mr. and Mrs. Grant Tucker, Mr. and Mrs. John Crabtree, Mr. and Mrs. Max Richsteig, and Mr. and Mrs. Quinn Chamberlain. Special guests were Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Wen-dell Bunnell and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Thofley. Pinochle was played and prizes were won by Mr. and Mrs. Max Richsteig and Mr. and Mrs. Quinn Chamberlain. A lovely love-ly bullet luncheon was served. Mr. and Mrs. Alden Heav and son David are in Salt Lake City for the 80th birthday of Mrs. Carrie Car-rie Linders. Mrs. Linders is the j mother of Mrs. Alden Heap. Miss Jackie Barrick left Cedar1 City for Salt Lake City to spend a few days with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Richard De-Rose De-Rose and children, Dickie and Debbie. Her friend, Miss Bonnie Magleby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. V. R. Magleby Is In the LDS Hospital with a serious back operation. op-eration. Miss Barrick plans to spend some time with Miss Magleby Mag-leby during her stay in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Jones had as a house guest at their home Mr. and Mrs. John Meyer's and their three children of Salt Lake City. Also Mrs. Meyer's father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ray Weatherill and son Ray from Austria. While in southern Utah the family toured the park areas and enjoyed the scenic sights. Mr. and Mrs. Weatherill and son are in the United States for seven months before returning to Austria. Aus-tria. The Pinochle Club and their partners had a steak fry at Wood's Ranch. They played volley vol-ley ball and horseshoes. Members Mem-bers present were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Merryweather, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Clark Barton, Mr. and Mrs. Garth Webster, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Savage, Mr. and Mrs, Ken Cower, Cow-er, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Lindsay and Me and Mrs. Hugh Robln- The employees of the United States Post Office in Cedar City, and their partners, enjoyed the company of Mr. Monson, a postal official from Denver, Colo., at 8 p. m., June 16. A lovely steak dinner was served at the Airport Cafe following a program. Rulon Wood acted as master of ceremonies. cere-monies. An enjoyable evening was had by all. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Parkinson Parkin-son and daughter Donna Marie Boyce and granddaughter Bocky were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Robinson. Mr. and Mrs. Parkinson are the parents of Mrs. Robinson and Donna Marie is her sister. Mrs Boyce is from Kansas City andl will stay with her folks In Beaver Bea-ver for a month before returning; home. |
