Show County Purchases Site for Hospital Endorse Industrial Group Proposal Iron County Commission sit-, ting in regular session last week authorized the purchase of 20 acres of land in Cedar City situated sit-uated on the southeast bench, as a site for the proposed new Iron County Hospital. I In addition the commission also accepted a proposition from the Iron County Industrial Com-mitee Com-mitee and the Cedar City Cham- ber of Commerce to cooperate In financing a full-time employee to advance and develop possible industrial potential of the area. County also authorized the investment in-vestment of approximately $70,- 000 of the county's building fund until such time as the funds are needed. Commission is currently In the process of negotiating the purchase pur-chase of 20 acres of property in the southeast sector of Cedar City for the site of the proposed new Iron County Hospital. Salary of the employee would be on a 50-50 50-50 basis with' the county to pay 50 of the salary and the Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce to pay the other 50. On the basis of the recommendation recom-mendation to the commissioners the employe would also serve as executive secretary of the Cedar 1 City Chamber of Commerce and ! offices In the. The commission agreed to the proposal with the stipulation taht it has the right to examine and approve expense accounts before they are paid. Applications for the position are currently being accepted by the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce. Com-merce. County Treasurer Clair Hulet, was instructed by the commission! commis-sion! to invest or deposit $70,000 from the county building reserve fund io create earnings until such time as use of these funds are necessitated. According to the instructions $50,000 is to be Invested on a long term basis with $20,000 invested on a short term basis.
