Show Gas Service Franchise Continues to ' ! Dominate City Docket The Cedar City Council is continuing con-tinuing its study of franchises for the distribution of natural gas when it becomes available, and spent some time in its meeting meet-ing Thursday conferring with the Petrolane-Utah Gas Company, and the Central Utah Natural Gas Co., on proposals make by these two companies. . - . . Mayor Arnold Anderson states that the administration plans to adopt a standard franchise plan to submit to all applicants before be-fore any franchise Is approved. Clarence E. Miller, chairman of the board of Iron County Com-, Com-, missloners, met with the council to present a bill for costs of wire, and other supplies for the television tele-vision booster system for Iron County. The total bill amounted to $810 and the city agreed to pay half of this amount with the county paying the other half. The city also agreed to assume as-sume the responsibility for power pow-er for the booster station at the north boundary of Cedar CUy. Walter Lowe, lessee of El Escalante Es-calante Hotel, met with the coun-citl coun-citl and requested permission to build a swimming pool on the hotel grounds. However, the council took the proposal under advisement until further study of the proposal can be made. |
