Assisting Coach Osborne are Jerry Slack, Sam Chamberlain and Rosalie Corry, who is directing direct-ing the girls' and women's portion por-tion of the program. At the present time the Minor League baseball - program for boys 9 through 12 years of age is moving into the third week. Games are played in the forenoon fore-noon on Monday, Wednesday and Friday with over 100 boys participating. partici-pating. This week caps and T-shirt T-shirt uniforms were issued to the team members, furnished by the city. In addition tennis instruction is being offered to boys and girls five days each week. An adult women's tennis class is also underway. un-derway. Adult women's ' instruction is being given each week day at the CSU courts from 9 to 10 . m. Young girls take over at 11 until noon each day. A special . instructional program pro-gram for boys' tennis is also being set up on a week day basis. Coach Osborne indicated that on the basis of registration private instruction to three boys at a time will be given at half-hour half-hour intervals to all those who are interested. These semi-prl-vaf classes will be held dally on the municipal courts at 11 a. m. Fs at the City swimming pool or at the tennis courts. It was also pointed that new nets have been strung at the municipal courts and lights are available for night playing. Lights are on a meter basis at the rate of 10c per hour. Girls' Softball program Is also being worked out with city re-creation re-creation and the Cedar Stake recreation programs combining for an effective and inclusive program. Coach Osborne also indicated that plans are currently being made to promote hiking and bicycling bi-cycling excursions throughout the summer months. Details will be announced at a later date. |
