Show Utah Jeep Service, Rescue Patrol Featured in Magazine The dramatic volunteer work of l the Utah Jeep and Rescue Association Asso-ciation is featured in the March issue of The V.ito , magazine for Mountain States Telephone employees in the company's eight-state region. The Monitor describes how the Utah group started In 1946 with the organization of the Bountiful Jeep Patrol, consisting of a half dozen men and a few surplus war Jeeps. Today, the association has 24 Jeep Patrols located throughout the state including the Iron County Sheriff's Jeep Patrol In this area. It has a total membership member-ship of more than 600 men who perform their vital operations using 500 jeeps, 25 trucks, 11 mobile first aid units and nine over-the-snow vehicles. Members also have 30 boats and 16 airplanes available for search and rescue work. Total value of this privately-owned equipment dedicated to the public pub-lic service exceeds $2 million. |
