"Pink Ladies" Giving Outstanding Service At Valley View Center A "Pink Lady" is a term of endearment used when speaking of a woman who in our hospitals hospi-tals Rives, free gralis, of her time and talents in compassion ate service for others. When we speak of the term here we are referring to the Women's Auxiliary Auxil-iary of the Valley View Medical Center. Recently new officers wen? elected and are now serving in the following capacities: President, Presi-dent, Vivian Knell; Vice President, Presi-dent, Carma Lunt; Secretary, Sylvia Bulloch; Treasurer, ReVoe Re-Voe Carter: Membership Chairman, Chair-man, Rea Carter; Project Chairman, Chair-man, Afton Meldrum; Publicity Chairman,, Loie Jean Murray; Scheduling Chairman, MarcilJ Topham; Snack Bar Chairmen I Lucy Bulloch and Sharon Webb. I As a note of interest, perhaps i unknown to the public, during the past year an average of 71 hours a week or a total of 3,-670 3,-670 hours were, voluntarily and without retribution, given by the 38 members of the medical auxiliary. aux-iliary. Actually the number of members has been increased from the 20 original charter members to the present 38 members mem-bers as services have expanded. This service has been of great convenience especially to those who do not live within the community. The snack bar Is also operated on a voluntary basi3 with all proceeds pro-ceeds going bark into the hospital hospi-tal in the form of needed supplies sup-plies and equipment. Also from this source a scholarship fund is being formed to be awarded through the "Candy Stripe" program, pro-gram, a subsidiary of the auxiliary, aux-iliary, to further the education of those girls interested in the nursing field. We feel a salute Is In order for the "Pink Ladies' of Valley View Medical Center for making Cedar City, through their willing efforts, a better place In which to live. |
