Show Huge Rehabilitation and Flood Control Project in Beaver-Iron Counties Under Study A totalof 249,000 acres of land lying in Beaver and iron counties will be affected by a proposed rehabilitation re-habilitation and flood control project now being considered in the nation's capital. Senator Frank E. Moss, D-Utah, announced that the vast land and watershed project has been approved by the Bureau of the Budget and sent to Congress for approval. Overall project cost Is $2,556,900 with a direct grant from the government In the amount of $944,400. Rep. Laurence J. Burton, R-Utah, R-Utah, Tuesday of this week appeared ap-peared before the house agricultural agricul-tural sub-committee to ask approval ap-proval of the project which has been designated as the Miners-ville Miners-ville Watershed Project. The project, pro-ject, he Indicated, will consist ! of land treatment, soil conserva- ; iion measures, such as reseeuing of hillsides, brush controls and gully plugs in critical areas. Structural measures consist of two debris basin, 37,700 feet of diversion dikes and channels, 118,610 ft. of concrete canal and 800 feet of irrigation pipe lining. Rep. Burton indicated that if this project is approved by the sub committee it will go before the full house agricultural committee, com-mittee, then to the Senate Agricultural Agri-cultural committee. After full approval ap-proval It will be returned to the Department of Agriculture to be put into works.
